Description
The pedestal is equipped with three waterproof wall sockets to allow visitors to your restaurant, terrace or other outdoor location, to charge their electric bike. Because the pedestal is made of recycled plastic, it not only offers a nice alternative to all available chargers, but you are also buying a product that is extremely sustainable. There are not many good and beautiful products made of recycled plastic. By purchasing this pedestal, you are helping to repurpose the ever-growing plastic waste mountain and you are also buying a beautiful and robust product.
The three fitted socket outlets (16A/250V) are splashproof with rim earthing and child safety. The socket outlets are completely covered by an upward-hinged protective flap. This green protective cover features a bright icon of a bicycle with a plug. This makes it clear to every cyclist that this is the place to charge the bike.
The pedestal rises 1.20 metres above the ground and therefore remains in sight above the bicycles placed next to it. This will make it easy for people to find the pedestal. Because this pedestal is seen by many cyclists, they will come back more often. After all, they are assured that at your location their bike can be charged.
The loading pedestal is equipped with ground plate which ensures that the pedestal is rock solid, even in loose soil.
Mounting the charging pedestal is child’s play thanks to the pre-sorted cable connector. This connector is fully water- and dust-proof, IP68 standard. The connector is suitable for cables from 1 to 1.5mm², however, we have found from experience that it is also suitable for cable cores up to 2.5mm². The outer diameter of the cable should be between 6 and 12mm.
Connecting is easy as the cable connector works like a crown connector, as it has a screw connection. The cable wires are inserted into the connector section and screwed firmly, then the connector is closed. Slide the supplied cable tube over the cable so that future excavation work does not directly hit the cable. Then simply dig the cable into the ground.
As this is an outdoor electrical installation, Laadzuil.com recommends fusing it separately with a 16A fuse. By also installing a switch and/or timer next to the fuse, you have the option of interrupting the power supply to the charging column in the evening or during the winter season.
